President Goodluck suspends Super Eagles for 2 years

Nigeria President Goodluck Jonathan on Wednesday banned the country’s football team from international competition for two years following their dismal showing at the World Cup, his office said.

“President Goodluck Jonathan has directed that Nigeria withdraws from international competition for two years to enable the country to put its house in order,” spokesman Ima Niboro told reporters after a weekly cabinet meeting.

Nigeria finished bottom of their group in South Africa with just one point from three matches.

They lost to Argentina and Greece and drew with South Korea.

Rotimi Amaechi, governor of a key oil-producing state, Rivers, who heads a special presidential task force on the World Cup campaign, said Nigeria would write to football’s world governing body FIFA to explain its decision.

“We went to the World Cup and found all sorts of problems and we felt we should sit back and look inward,” said Amaechi.

Jonathan also ordered an audit into how the funds allocated for the team at the World Cup were used.

Tiger Woods and his estranged wife Elin reunite for daughter's birthday party

Tiger Woods has not been seen in public with Elin Nordegren since the revelations that he cheated on her with up to 14 different women.

But Woods and his estranged wife temporarily put their differences aside for the sake of their daughter Sam as they belatedly celebrated her third birthday last Saturday.

It was the first time in several months that Woods and Nordegren have been seen in the same place.

Nordegren, 30, looked calm and collected in black and white top and leggings as she carried her daughter into the party.

But she couldn’t have been pleased when her 35-year-old estranged husband arrived late, not showing up until 4.55pm, almost an hour after the event’s 4pm start time.

Despite their show of unity, reports say that the pair were barely civil to each other at the bash, held at Cranium Clubhouse, which is near the couple's respective homes in Orlando, Florida.

He was accompanied by his office manager Kathy and another unidentified woman.

Larry King Announced: I'm ending LKL this fall

Larry King is stepping down after 25 year.

The Broadcast veteran announced last night on air that he would be ending his nightly Larry King Live show this autumn after 25 years.

King, 76, said in a statement on his show that he would still host specials for CNN on major events but wanted to spend more time with his wife and young children.

Known for his non-confrontational style and for wearing coloured braces, King has interviewed a broad array of guests from Hollywood stars to politicians and athletes.

'With this chapter closing I'm looking forward to the future and what my next chapter will bring, but for now it's time to hang up my nightly suspenders,' King told viewers on tonight's show.

Larry King Live recently made the Guinness Book of World Records for having the longest running show with the same host in the same time slot.

2011: OKOTIE declares for President again!

Senior Pastor, Household of God, Reverend Cris Okotie, yesterday declared his intention to contest the 2011 presidential election. The cleric, who would be contesting for the presidency for the third time, is seeking to actualize his ambition on the platform of the Fresh Democratic Party (PDP).

Okotie, who contested the 2003 and 2007 presidential elections and lost, said he was motivated to re-contest by a divine call to salvage the country from the “inept, corrupt and purposeless leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).”
He promised to restore the country to a path of growth, stability and security if elected president.
